About us

The Sam’s Club-Community Nurse partnership began with a mutual desire to create a health-oriented event that would positively impact the community as well as create awareness about Community Nurse and the good works Sam’s Club performs in the community.

“It is our goal to support Community Nurse by raising $60,000,” said Larry Dodson, Market Manager for Sam’s Club. “We are thrilled to partner with them to raise funds and provide more than 200 volunteers to help keep the community healthy.”

“Our partnership with Sam’s Club really brings the issue of the suburban uninsured to light,” said Angela Curran, Executive Director of Community Nurse. “Their sponsorship makes a huge impact on our ability to provide quality health and dental care to those families who need it most.”

The race is challenging, which draws runners from the area and beyond. Starting with a cross country style start (where all runners line up next to each other rather than behind each other), runners will tackle the 10 mile trail terrain in addition to the Big Bertha hill at mile 3, a 125 foot climb over a half mile stretch.

All runners receive a performance T-shirt and stuffed goodie bag in addition to the chance to win cash prizes. There will also be a Dick Pond Shoe Giveaway and other raffles for registered runners.

You think you get good samples when shopping at Sam’s Club on the weekend? You won’t want to miss the after race “Taste of Sam’s Club”! Music and inflatable jumpers will entertain the kids, as well as a 1 mile youth race.
